Playa de As Catedrais

Its original name, Praia de Augasantas, probably refers to an ancient medicinal spring with miraculous “holy waters,” according to local legends.

Today it is popularly known as Praia de As Catedrais, a name that refers to its rock formations which ressemble the buttresses of magnificent Gothic cathedrals, making this beach the Cantabric mecca of natural Gothic art.
